AFFIDAVITREQUIREMENTS FOR CONNECTION TO
DIGITALSERVICES
• An affidavit is required to be given to the telephone
company whenever digital terminal equipment w ith-
out encoded analog content and billing protection is
used to transmit digital signals containing encoded
analogcontent whichare intended for eventual con-
versioninto voiceband analog signals and transmitted
on the network.
• The affidavit shall affirm that either no encoded ana-
logcontent or billi ng information is being transmitted
orthat the ou tput oft he device meets Part 68 encoded
analogco ntent or billing protection specifications.
• End user/customer will be responsible to file an affi-
davitwith the loc al exchange carrier when connecting
unprotected CPE to a 1.544 Mbps or subrate digital
services.
• Until such time as subrate digital terminal equipment
isregis tered for voice applications, the affidavit re-
quirementfor subrateservices is waived.
