Parameter Description
OSPF Protocol Enables OSPF on all interfaces.
Router ID Assigns a unique ID to the router for use by the OSPF protocol. It must be one of the
router's IP addresses.
AS Boundary Router An Autonomous System Boundary Router (ASBR) ca n convert external routes into
OSPF routes. Which external r outes is determined through the following parameters.
In the figure, only Router 5 is an ASBR.
The following parameters apply only to
Autonomous System Boundary Ro uters
.
Originate Default
Gateway
Advertisement
Router will advertise itself as the Default Gateway (DG).
Default Gateway
External Metric Applies when
Originate Default Gateway Adve rtisement
is set to
Yes
. Defines the
metric that will be advertised by OSPF.
Default Gateway
External Metric-Type Applies when
Originate Default Gateway Adve rtisement
is set to Yes. For
Type 1
, the
total metric of this route is composed of th e internal metric (inside the autonom ous
system) and the external metri c (provided in the previous p arameter). For
Type 2
, the
total metric of this route is the v alue provided in the previous parameter.
Advertise RIP Routes Routes learned through the RIP protocol will be converted to OSPF as external routes.
RIP External Metric Applies when
Advertise RIP routes
is set to
Yes
. Defines the metric that will be
advertised by OSPF.
