In addition to these tools, there’s a slider (the gray line with a blue dot on it) that shows your current place in the book. To move quickly through a book forward or backward, you can drag the slider right or left.

To jump to a specific page in the book, tap the Go to Page button, type the page number using the keypad that ap- pears, and tap Go. To jump back to the page you were reading previously, tap the Go Back button.

Reading Tools: content

Tap the content icon in the Reading Tools to open a window with three tabs:

Contents - a Table of Contents listing section or chapter titles

Notes & Highlights - a list of all the passages you have highlighted or written notes about

Bookmarks - a list of all the bookmarks you have placed in this book

Tap on any title, highlighted passage summary, or bookmark to jump to that location in the book.

Reading Tools: find

Tap the find icon in the Reading Tools to search for a word or phrase in the book you’re reading.

When you tap on find, a keyboard appears on the screen. Type a word or phrase you want to search for in the book, then tap the Search button in the lower right corner of the screen.

Reading Tools: share

Tap the share icon in the Reading Tools to open a menu with these choices:

Recommend - recommend the book to your friends by

sending email to one or more contacts

posting a recommendation on your Facebook wall or the wall of a friend on Facebook

posting a recommendation through your Twitter account

Rate and Review - rate the book and post a short review on BN.com; optionally post the review to Facebook or Twitter

Post Reading Status - post a message on Facebook or Twitter telling how far you have read in the book

Like this on Facebook - use the Facebook Like feature to post a statement in your Facebook News feed saying that you like this book

To use these features, you must first link your NOOK to your Facebook and Twitter accounts, and you must add some email accounts to your NOOK Contacts application. For more information, see “Configuring Social Features”.

Reading Tools: text

Tap the text icon in the Reading Tools to open a window for adjusting the font size, line spacing, margin size, and background color of the screen.

Reading Tools: brightness

Tap the brightness icon in the Reading Tools to open a slider for adjusting the brightness of the screen. When you have finished dragging the slider, tap anywhere on the page to close the slider window.
