Colored streaks or bands down the

page

Replace the toner cartridge that matches the color of the streak or ba nd. (See

Replacing a toner cartridge on page 98.)

Clean all four corona wires (one for each color) inside t he drum unit by sliding

the green tab. (See Cleaning the corona wi res on page 127.)

Make sure the corona wire cleaners are at their home positions (a).

Put in a new drum unit. (See Replacing the drum unit on page 105.)

Colored lines across the page

Replace the toner cartridge that matches the color of the li ne. (See Replacing

a toner cartridge on page 98.)

Put in a new drum unit. (See Replacing the drum unit on page 105.)

White spots or hollow print

Change the paper to freshly unpacked paper.

Make sure that you use p aper that meets our specifications. (See About

paper on page 6.)

Make sure that the media type set ting in the driver matches the type of paper

you are using. (See About paper on page 6.)

Check the printer’s environment. Condit ions such as high humidi ty can cause

white spots or hollow print. (See Positioning the printer on page 5. )

Completely blank or some colors

are missing

Identify the missing color and make sure that the toner cartridge i s installed

properly.

Put in a new toner cartridge. (See Replacing a toner cartridge on page 98.)

Put in a new drum unit. (See Replacing the drum unit on page 105.)
