Basting

aPress , and then attach presser foot “J”.
bPress the “Reverse/Reinforcement Stitch”
button to sew reinforcement stitches at the
beginning of the stitching.
cSew while lightly guiding the fabric.

Darts Seams
aPress , and then attach presser foot “J”.
bPress the “Reverse/Reinforcement Stitch”
button to sew reverse stitches at the
beginning of the stitching, and then sew from
the wide end to the other end without
stretching the fabric.
* If the automatic reverse/reinforcement stitching
setting is selected before sewing, reverse stitches
will be sewn at the beginning of the stitching.
aBasting
cWithout sewing reverse stitches at the end of
the stitching, pull out 50 mm (approx. 1-15/
16 inches) of the threads, cut them, and then
tie the two ends together.
dInsert the ends of the thread into the dart
with a sewing needle.
eIron the dart to one side.
Memo
For a standard 16 mm (approx. 5/8 inch) seam
allowance, set the width to 0 mm on the screen. While
sewing, align the edge of the fabric with the 16mm
(approx. 5/8 inch) mark on the needle plate.

The stitch length can be set between 5 mm and 30 mm
(approx. 3/16 and 1-3/16 inches).
