This section introduces a range of functions that
you can access when the Mode switch is set to
“D”. The explanations below all presuppose
that the Mode switch is set to “D”.
If there is a power socket handy, use the special
AC Power Adapter AC-5V (sold separately) so
there is no need to worry about the batteries
running out during playback (➡P.13, 72).

When you have finished selecting the settings,
press the
“MENU/
EXE” button to confirm the
settings. These settings are retained even when
the camera is switched off.
➀Press the shutter button to take the picture.
➁The photographed image appears on the
LCD monitor.
➂To record the image, press the “MENU/EXE”
button.

If you take the batteries out of the camera for a long
period or remove the batteries during setup, the
camera settings may all revert to the factory default
values.

If you are not satisfied with the resulting image,
press the “CANCEL/BACK” button to prevent the
image being recorded on the SmartMedia. Then take
the picture again.
