Loading the Batteries

Batteries are required to operate the digital camera. At first, load the batteries in the camera.

ZCompatible batteries

AA-size alkaline batteries (2)

Alkaline batteries are useful when the rechargeable batteries have run out while you are traveling and a few more shots are needed.

AA-size Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (2)

CAUTION

• Never use the following types of

batteries, as they could cause serious problems such as battery

fluid leakage or overheating: 1.Batteries with split or peeling

outer casings 2.Combinations of different types

of batteries or new and used batteries together

Do not use manganese, Ni-Cd or lithium batteries.

Use the same brand and grade AA-size alkaline batteries as those supplied with the camera.

The shooting time provided by alkaline batteries varies depending on the types and brands. In some cases, the camera may stop taking pictures or may suddenly turn off without retracting the lens. This is not a camera fault.

1 Open the battery cover.

CHECK

Check that the camera is turned off before opening the battery cover.

CAUTION

Do not open the battery cover while the camera is on. This could damage the Memory Card or ruin the image files on the Memory Card.

Do not apply force to the battery cover.
