MOVING PEGS:Bothpegsareusedtoscoreinthefollowingway:
A.Aplayermarkshisfirstscorebymovingonepegthatnumberofholesfromthestart.
B.Hissecondscoreismarkedbyplacinghissecondpegthatnumberofholesbeyondhisfirstpeg.Thepegsleapfrogalongthetrack,theleadpeg indicatingaplayer'scurrenttotalandthebackpegindicatingthepreviousscore.

OBJECT: Tobethefirstplayertoscore121points,i.e.tobethefirsttoreachthe"finish"hole.
THE DEAL:Playerscutfordeal.Theplayerwiththelowestcut(aceislow)dealsfirst,andthenthedealalternatesbetweenplayers.Dealsixcards, oneatatime,toeachplayer.Theremainingcardsareplacedfacedowntooneside.TheCribisanextrahandscoredbythedealer.Itisformedby eachoftheplayersdiscardingtwocards,oftheirchoice,andplacingthem,facedown,tothedealer’sright.Eachplayeristhenleftwithahandof fourcards.
THE CUT:
SCORING POINTS:Pointsarescoredduringtheplayingofahandandwhenthehandsareshownafterplay.Combinationsofcardsscoreas follows:
A.Apair;twocardsofthesamerank,scoresatwopoints.
B.Apairroyal;threecardsofthesamerank,scoressixpoints(twopointsforeachofthepossiblepairstobe made).
C.Adoublepairroyal;fourcardsofthesamerank,scorestwelvepoints.
D.A“sequence”or“run”isaseriesofcardsinfaceorder(acelow)andscoreonepointforeachcard.Ifaflushisalsoarun,pointsarescoredfor bothfeatures.
E. “Fifteen”isanycombinationofcardswithafacevaluetotalinghatnumber.Itscorestwopoints.

PLAY:
Wheneverapair,pairroyal,doublepairroyal,sequenceorfifteen(butnotaflush)isformedduringplay,theplayerputtingdownthecardthatformsit
Asequenceofcardsscoresregardlessoftheorderinwhichitisplayed. Thusifcardsareplayedintheorderace,2,5,4,3,theplayerputtingout the3cancountonarunoffivecards.Shouldthesecondplayerbeabletoadda6hecanscorearunofsixcards,andsoon.
Whenthecountduringplayreaches31,thecardsareturnedfacedownandtheplayerwhosecardbroughtthetotalto31scorestwopoints.Ifa playerathisturnisunabletoplayacardthatiswithinthelimitof31,hesays“Go.”Hisopponentthenplaysanyofhiscardsthatarelowenoughto bewithinthelimit.Iftheymake31hescorestwopoints,iflessthan31hescoresonepointandalsosays“Go.”Countstartsoverandplaythen resumeswiththeremainingcardsinhand,andproceedsuntilallthecardsareplayedor31isagainreached.Playingthelastcardofahandscores “oneforthelast,”(scoresonepoint).
THE
Acardmayberankedforscoringinanynumberofdifferentcombinations.Forexample,two10’sandtwo5’swouldgiveascoreofeightpointsfor fifteenplusfourpointsforpairs,givingatotalof12points.Thecombination4,4,5,6,6scoreseightpointsforfifteen,fourpointsforpairs,and12 pointsforsequences,givingatotalof24points.
IfaplayerholdsaJackofthesamesuitasthestart,hescores“oneforhismob,”(scoresonepoint).
Aflush of four cards in a hand scores four points. If the start is of the same suit the player scores five points, but a flush of four cards including the start scores nothing.
