aboveterrainwhentheaircraft ismorethan5nm fromanairport,orthe heightabovethenearestrunway
thresholdelevationifwithin5nmofanairport.
VCOalertsbeginat500feetwiththeauralmessage“Five Hundred”.Maintenancepersonnelmaycongure
additionalVCOalertstooccurat400,300,200and100feetduringdescent.
Therearenodisplayannunciationsorpop-upalertsthataccompanytheauralVCOalert(s).
SYSTEM STATUS
Duringpower-up,TAWS-Aconductsaself-testofitsauralandvisualannunciations.Thesystemtestcanalso
bemanuallyinitiated.Asingle chimeisissuedattestcompletion. TAWS-ASystemTestingisdisabledwhen
groundspeedexceeds30knots.TAWS-Aterrainalertswillnotbeissuedwhileatestisinprogress.

1) Select the TAWS-A Page.
