ENGINE PROBLEMS

Engine Will Not
Start
1. Check control positions.
2. Check fuel.
3. Remove and inspect
spark plug.
4. Take the mower to an
authorized Honda
servicing dealer, or
refer to shop manual.
Loss of Power
1. Check throttle position. Throttle not set to FAST.
2. Check grass height.
3. Check under mower
deck.
4. Check air filters.
5. Check fuel.
6. Take mower to an
authorized Honda
servicina dealer. or
refer to shop manual.

Possible Cause Correction

Fuel valve OFF. Turn fuel valve ON (p.12).
Throttle lever in wrong Move throttle lever to
position. CHOKE position, unless
the engine is warm (p. 29).
Out of fuel. Refuel (p. 21).
Bad fuel; mower stored Drain fuel tank and
without treating or carburetor (p. 73).
draining gasoline, or Refuel with fresh
refueled with bad gasoline. gasoline (p. 21).
Spark plug faulty, Clean, gap, or replace
fouled, or improperly spark plug (p. 53).

Spark plug wet with Dry and reinstall spark
