9.Check the configuration using the cmcheckconf
10.Distribute Metrocluster/Continuous Access configuration, environment and control script files to other nodes in the cluster by using ftp, rcp or scp:
# rcp
other_node:/etc/cmcluster/pkgname
See the example script Samples/ftpit to see how to
Using ftp may be preferable at your organization, since it does not require the use of a.rhosts file for root. Root access via the .rhosts may create a security issue.
11.Verify that each node in the Serviceguard cluster has the following files in the directory
/etc/cmcluster/pkgname.
pkgname.cntl | Seviceguard package control script |
pkgname_xpca.env | Metrocluster/Continuous Access environment file |
pkgname.config | Serviceguard package ASCII configuration file |
pkgname.sh | Package monitor shell script, if applicable |
other files | Any other scripts you use to manage Serviceguard packages |
The Serviceguard cluster is ready to automatically switch packages to nodes in remote data centers using Metrocluster/Continuous Access.
Configuring Modular Packages
With HP Serviceguard A.11.18 and above, Modular packages can be created using building blocks that consist of only those functions that are required for the package. This new modular method of creating packages provides the following benefits:
•All package parameters are now configured in one place - the package configuration file.
•Separate package control files need not be created and distributed in the cluster.
Modular Metrocluster packages can be created using Metrocluster with Continuous Access for XP A.09.00 and above. Legacy Metrocluster packages can also be migrated to Modular packages.
This section discusses the following topics:
•“Configuring Modular Packages with Metrocluster with Continuous Access XP A.09.00” (page 181)
•“Upgrading Metrocluster XPCA Modular Packages to the Latest Version” (page 187)
•“Checking the Metrocluster Configuration” (page 189)
