Copying the CD text
Each press switches the mode.
1TITLE not lit : TITLE INPUT mode is off
2TITLE blinking : TITLE INPUT mode is on
While “WRITING” is displayed, do not apply shock
or vibration to the unit because information is
being written on the Mini Disc.
Preparation
Display after execution
“COMPLETE!” : Copy is completed.
“CAN’T LOAD” : Copy is incomplete.
“CAN’T ACCESS” : A CD text-compatible CD player is not connected
to this unit.
“CDtext EMPTY” : The CD in use is not a CD text disc or no CD is
loaded in the player.
“Now Analog In” : CD text cannot be loaded because the current
input mode is the analog mode.
“UNLOCK” : CD text cannot be loaded because the digital cord
or optical fiber cable is disconnected or connected
improperly.
÷When the text copy function has been set, the text (track titles) is
transmitted from the CD to the MD.
÷When the CD player is not designed to display the CD text, the CD text
corresponding to each track is displayed as the CD tracks are played
after loading.
÷To abort recording in the middle, press the 7 key of the CD player.
÷To abort the CD text copy in the middle, eject the copy source CD.
Information is
being written. Mini Disc has been ejected.
1Set the amplifier’s input selector to CD.
2Switch off the program mode of the CD player.
3Put the CD player and MD recorder to stop mode.
4Set the MD recorder to the DIGITAL mode for accepting the input signal from the CD player.
By connecting this unit with a KENWOOD CD Text-compatible CD player (which carries “CD TEXT” marking on the rear panel)
through a synchro cord and a digital cord or optical fiber cable, the text (disc titles and track titles) of CD tracks can be copied
onto a MD disc. It is not possible to copy the text alone. However, note that the copying of CD text may not be possible with
certain discs.
Loading (displaying) the CD text
1Switch the TITLE INPUT mode on.
2Select “CDtext LOAD”.
3Set the selection (by pressing the JOG DIAL).
The modes are switched by rotating the JOG DIAL.
1DISC : Disc title
2001 : Track title
3PRE 1-PRE 9 : Preset title
4ALL ERASE? : Erasing both disc and track titles
5CDtext LOAD?: Preparing for CD text copy
Display after execution
“NO TEXT COPY” : Copy failed. (When the CD inhibits the copy operation)
CD text display and copy
To delete the CD text data copied on MD:
While “COPY” is lit, press the REC INPUT key to switch the
mode.
÷The copied CD text data is deleted automatically.
