Entering Numbers, Symbols, Smileys, and Preset
Messages
To enter numbers:
Selectthe 123mode and press the appropriate key.
(See “Selecting a Character InputMode”on page 35).
To enter symbols:
Selectthe Symbolsmode. (See “Selecting a Character
InputMode”on page 35.) To enter a symbol, press the
appropriate key indicated on the display.
To enter “emoticons”(smileys):
Selectthe Smileysmode and press the appropriate key.

To enter presetmessages:
1. Selectthe PresetMessages mode. (See “Selecting a
Character InputMode”on page 35.)
2. Scroll to the desired preprogrammed message and
press .
To enter recentmessages:
1. SelectSend Message > TextMessage mode.
2. In message inputmode, select Mode (right softkey) and
scroll to the Recentmessagesand press .
Note: Presetmessages make composing textmessages even easier by
allowing you to enter presetmessages, such as “Meetme at”, “Let’s get
lunch”, or a customized message of your own. (For more information on
presetmessages, please see “Managing PresetMessages”on page 55.)
