12. Power Lines
An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead p ower lines or other electric light or
power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When in stalling an outside antenna system,
extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circ uits as contact with them might be
fatal.
13. Overloading
Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in a ri sk of fire or electric shock.
14. Object and Liquid Entr y
Never push objects of any kind into this TV through openings as they may touc h dangerous voltage points or
short-out parts that could result in fire or e lectric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on or into the TV.
15. Outdoor Antenna Groundi ng
If an outside antenna or cable system is connected to the TV, be
sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so as to provide some
protection against voltage surges and built-up static charge s.
Article 810 of the National Electric Code, ANSI/NFPA No. 70-2002,
provides information with respect to proper grounding of the
mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead in wi re to an
antenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, locatio n of
antenna discharge unit, connection to grounding electro des, and
requirements for the grounding electrode.
16. Servicing
Do not attempt to service this TV yourself as opening o r removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage
or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualifie d service personnel.
17. Damage Requiring Ser vice
Unplug the TV from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qua lified service personnel under the following
conditions:
(a) When the power-supply cord or plu g is damaged.
(b) If liquid has been spilled, or obje cts have fallen into the TV.
(c) If the TV has be en exposed to rain or water.
(d) If the TV does not operate nor mally by following the operating instructions, adjust only those controls t hat
are covered by the operating instructions as an improper adjustme nt of other controls may result in damage
and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the T V to its normal operation.
(e) If the TV has be en dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.
(f) When the TV exhibits a distinct change in perfor mance - this indicates a need for service.
18. Replacement Parts
When replacement parts are required, be sur e the service technician has used replacement par ts specified by
the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the origin al part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in
fire, electric shock or other hazards.
19. Safety Check
Upon completion of any service or repair to the TV, ask the servi ce technician to perform safety checks to
determine that the TV is in safe operating condition.
20. Heat
The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radia tors, heat registers, stoves or other
products (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
