Problem Check These Items
Does not turn on • Check that the p ower cable is plugged in a nd that the power butto n on the projector cabi net or the remote
control is on. (→ page 15, 16)
• Ensure t hat the lamp cover is i nstalled corre ctly. (→ page 49)
• Ensure t hat the two screw s on the lamp housing ar e completely tig htened.(→ page 49)
• Ensure t hat the cooling pump i s installed corr ectly. (→ page 50)
• Check to se e if the projector ha s overheated. If th ere is insuffi cient ventilation ar ound the projector or i f the
room where you are presen ting is particu larly warm, move th e projector to a coo ler location.
• Check to see i f the lamp usage exceed s 2100 hours (up to 3100 hours : Eco mod e). If so, replace the lamp.
After replacing the l amp, reset the lamp ho urs used.(→ page 46)
• The la mp may fail to light. Wa it a full minute and the n turn on the power agai n.
Will turn off • Ensure that the Power M anagement or Of f Timer is off. (→ page 44)
No picture • Use t he COMPUTER, the V IDEO or the S-VIDEO but ton on the remote c ontrol to selec t your source (Compute r,
Video or S-Video). (→ page 18) If there is still no picture, press t he button again.
• Ensure y our cables are conn ected properly.
• Use men us to adjust the contr ast and brightn ess. (→ page 39)
• Check t o see if the image is mut ed. (→ page 28)
• Remove t he lens cap.
• Rese t the settings or a djustments to fa ctory preset l evels using the [Res et] in the Menu. (→ page 46)
• Enter y our registered key word if the Secur ity function i s enabled. (→ page 28)
• Be sure to c onnect the projec tor and notebook PC w hile the projector i s in standby mode and b efore turning
on the power to the notebook P C.
In most cases the output signal from the notebook PC is not turned on unless connected to the projector
before being powered up.

saver or power managemen t software.

Picture suddenly be-
comes dark
• When on e of the following ha ppens, the Lamp mode a utomaticall y changes from Norm al to Eco.
* Whe n there are no signals (bl ue or black screen) → To return to the Normal mode, select another avail-
able source.
* W hen the room where y ou' re presenting is p articularly w arm → Move the projec tor to a cooler loca tion.
Color tone or hue is
unusual
• Check i f an appropriate c olor is selected i n [Wall Color]. If not, se lect an appropri ate option. (→ page 41)
• Adjus t [Hue] in [Picture]. (→ page 39)
Image isn’t square to the
screen
• Reposi tion the projec tor to improve its angl e to the screen. (→ page 20, 21)
• Use the K eystone correc tion function to c orrect the tra pezoid distort ion. (→ page 25)
Picture is blurred • Make s ure that focus is app ropriate.
• Reposi tion the projec tor to improve its angl e to the screen. (→ page 20, 21)
• Ensure that the dis tance between the pr ojector and screen is wi thin the adjustment ra nge of the lens. (→
page 10)
• Make sure that the dis tance between the fo cus sensor and the screen is w ithin the effectiv e range of the
Auto Focus. (→ page 22)
• Make sur e that the requirem ents for the Auto F ocus are met. (→ page 22)
• Condensation m ay form on the lens if the proj ector is cold, brought in to a warm place and is then tur ned
on. Should this happen, le t the projector st and until there is no c ondensation on t he lens.
Image is scrolling vert i-
