•If recording under fluore sc en t light, the brightness or the hu e m ay change slightly when the
shutter speed becomes fast. This occurs due to the characteristics of fluorescent light. It is not
a malfunction.
•Are you using a MultiMediaCa rd? This unit does not support Mu l tiM e diaCards.
>When you set the picture qua lity to [ ], [ ] or [ ], we recommend using a
high-speed card with “10MB / s” or greater displayed on the packag e.
•Depending on the type of the c ard , recording may stop in the middl e.
≥If the subject has differe nt co lors as the periphery, set the AF are a to t hose colors specific to
the subject by aligning that are a with the AF area. (P63)
•It is possible that the subjec t may be warped slightly, or the borders get color ed, depending on
the zoom magnification, due to the characteristics of the len s. Also, the peripherals of the
image might look warped beca use the perspective is enhanced w hen the wide angle is used.
This is not a malfunction.
•The LCD monitor turns off and the status indicator lights when [AUT O LCD OFF] (P21) is
selected for the [ECONOMY] mode.
[This does not happen when using the AC adaptor (DMW-AC5PP; opt ional).]
If the remaining battery pow er is low, it may take longer for the flash to be char ge d, and the
time during which the LCD mon itor is turned off may become longe r.
•This phenomenon appears when you press the shutter butt on halfway to set the aperture val ue
and does not affect the record ed pictures.
•This phenomenon also appea rs when the brightness change s w hen the camera is zoomed or
when the camera is moved. Thi s is because of operation of the autom a tic aperture of the
camera, and it is not a malfuncti on .
The brightness or the hue of the recorded picture is different from the actual
scene
A reddish vertical line (s mear) appears on the LCD monitor during
picture-taking.
•This is a characteristic of CC Ds, and it appears when the subje ct has a
bright part. Some unevennes s may occur in the surrounding area s, but
this is not a malfunction.
It is recorded in motion pictu res but is not recorded on still pict ures.
•It is recommended that you take pictures while taking ca re not to expose
the screen to sunlight or any o ther source of strong light.

The subject cannot be loc ked. (AF track fails)
