Advanced (Recording pictures)

For details on [REC] mode menu settings, refer to P18.

Using these mod es, the pictures can be made sh arper or softer, the colors of the pic tures

can be turned in to sepia colors or other color eff ects can be achiev ed.

Note

•When you take pictures in dark pla ces, noise may become visible. To avoid noise, we

recommend setting to [NATURAL].

•You cannot set [COOL] or [WARM] in Intelligent auto mod e. Also, you cannot set [NATURAL] or

[VIVID] in motion picture mode.

•Different color modes can be set i n di ffer ent [REC] modes.

Using one of thes e modes, jitter d uring picture ta king is detected, and the camera

automatically compen sates the jitter, enabling ji tter-free images to be taken.

Note

•The stabilizer function may not be effective in the following cases.

–When there is a lot of jitter.

–When the zoom magn ification is high.

–In digital zoom range.

–When taking pictures while fo l l owi n g a moving subject.

–When the shutter speed becomes slower to take pictures in doors or in dark p laces.

Be careful of camera jitte r wh en you press the shutter butto n .

•The setting is fixed t o [MODE2] w ith [SELF PORTRAIT] in scene mode and to [OF F] in

[STARRYSKY] in scene mode.

•In motion picture mode, [AUTO] or [MODE2] cannot be set.

You can take a picture brightly in dark places by setting [MIN. SH TR SPEED] slower. Also,

you can set it faster to r educe the blur of the sub ject.

H [COLOR MODE]

[STANDARD]: This is the standard setting.

[NATURAL]: The picture becomes softer.

[VIVID]: The picture becomes sharper.

[B/W]: The picture bec omes black and white.

[SEPIA]: The picture becomes sepia.

[COOL]: The pictu re becomes blui sh.

[WARM]: The picture becomes re ddish.

[STABILIZER]

[OFF]

[AUTO]: The optimum jit ter compensation is selected depe nding on the cond ition.

[MODE1]: Jitter is always comp ensated during [REC] mo de.

[MODE2]: The jitter is co mpensated for w hen the shutter button is presse d.
