Cautions for Use
Take care not to drop or knock the unit or put a lot of p ressure on it.
Take care not to knock or drop the bag/case that you inserted the camera in as the sh oc k may
cause damage to the camera, le ns or LCD monitor.
Do not attach any other items to the wrist strap that’s included wit h y our camera. While being
stored, that item can rest agai ns t t he LCD monitor and damage it.
Do not use a paper bag as it can easily ri p ca us ing the camera to fall and be damag ed.
We strongly recommend you purc has e a good camera bag/case fro m you r local dealer to
protect your camera.
Keep the camera a s far away as possib le from electro magnetic equipm ent (such as
microwave ovens , TVs, video gam es etc.).
If you use the camera on top of or near a TV, the pictures and sound on the camera may be
disrupted by electrom agnetic wave radiati on.
Do not use the camera near cell pho nes because doing so may re su lt in noise adversely
affecting the pictures and sound .
Recorded data may be damaged, or pi ct ur es may be distorted, by stron g m agn etic fields
created by speakers or large m ot or s.
Electromagnetic wave radi at ion generated by microproces sors may adversely affect the
camera, disturbing the pict ure s and sound.
If the camera is adversely affect ed by el ec tromagnetic equipment and s tops functioning
properly, turn the camera off and remove the battery or disconne ct AC adaptor (D MW-AC5PP;
optional). Then rein sert the battery o r reconnect AC ada ptor and turn the c amera on.
Do not use the ca mera near radio transmitters or high-voltage line s.
If you record near ra dio transmitters or high-voltage lines, the recorded pictures a nd sound may
be adversely affected.
Always use the sup plied cords and cables. If you use optional accessories, use the
cords and the ca bles supplied w ith them.
Do not extend th e cords or the cab les.
Do not spray the camera with insecticides or volatile chemicals.
If the camera is spray ed with such chemica ls, the body of the camera may be damage d and the
surface finish may peel off.
Do not keep rubber or plastic pr od ucts in contact with the camera fo r a lo n g period of time.
Before cleaning the camer a, remove the battery or disconnect the power p lug from
the outlet. The n wipe the camera with a dry soft cl oth.
•When the camera is soiled badly , it ca n be cle an ed by wip in g the di r t of f wit h a wr ung we t
cloth, and then wit h a dry cloth.
•Do n ot use solvents such as benzine, thinner, alcohol, ki tchen detergents, etc., t o clean
the camera, since it may deteriorate the external case or the coating may peel off.
•Wh en using a chem ical cloth, be su re to follow th e accompanying i nstructions.
Do not press the LCD monitor wi th excessive force. Uneven col or s may appear on the LCD
monitor and it may malfunction.
