Interface Group – “ifOperStatus” Object (ifEntry 8)
This object specifies the current operational state of the interface. The value of
this object for each interface is defined as follows:
Network T1: The interface is up(1) when no alarm conditions exist.
The interface is down(2) when an alarm condition is active.
The interface is testing(3) when a test is active on the
interface.
DTE T1: The interface is up(1) when no alarm conditions exist and
the interface is enabled.
The interface is down(2) when an alarm condition is active
and the interface is disabled.
The interface is testing(3) when a test is active on the
interface.
COM Port: When configured as an SNMP management link, up and
down are based on the current state of the link layer
protocol. Otherwise, the interface is always up(1).
The interface is never in the testing(3) state.
AUX Port: When configured as an SNMP management link, up and
down are based on the current state of the link layer
protocol. Otherwise, the interface is always down(2).
The interface is never in the testing(3) state.
Data Ports: The interface is up(1) when the port is assigned to a T1
interface or another data port as a backup, and both CTS
and DSR are ON.
The interface is down(2) when the port is unassigned, or
either CTS or DSR is OFF.
The interface is testing(3) when a test is active on the
interface.
Interface Group – “ifLastChange” Object (ifEntry 9)
This object contains the value of “sysUpTime” at the time the interface entered its
current operational state.
