Taking 3D Pictures (3D Image Mode)

3D pictures can be taken in which two pictures placed side-by-side can be viewed using a special method to produce a three-dimensional image. You can take 3D pictures and view them by the parallel method or cross method. The default setting is [Parallel]. Refer to “Selecting the Viewing Mode” (p.78) for instructions on taking pictures by the cross method.

1 Set the mode dial to G.

The screen for taking the first image appears on the left of the LCD monitor.

2 Take the first image.

Hold the camera so that the subject is in the middle of the left half of the screen and press the shutter release button. The image appears in the left half of the LCD monitor. The right half of the screen is for taking the second image.

3 Move the camera to the right without changing your stance.

4 Take the second image.

Make sure that the subject is in the middle of the right half of the screen and press the shutter release button.

To cancel the 3D Image mode, set the mode dial to any mode other than G.

In 3D Image mode, the image is saved as C(JPEG) even when the quality level is set to TIFF.
