Selecting the Picture Mode According to the Shooting Scene

Your Optio X camera has a variety of shooting modes that allow you to take pictures according to the situation or shooting conditions simply by choosing the right mode for that situation.

There are 15 available shooting modes.

R	Program	The basic picture-taking mode. Lets you take pictures
		using the various camera functions.
		Lets you capture the bright colors of landscape views by
q	Landscape	emphasizing the contours and tones of green trees, blue
		sky, etc.
		Lets you capture the vivid colors of flowers. The
<	Flower	brightness of the image is maintained while the
		background is moderately blurred.
I	Portrait	Lets you take beautiful portrait shots. (Natural skin tone
		is captured by reducing the contrast.)
A	Night Scene	Lets you take dark scenes such as night views.
	AssistPanorama	Lets you overlap the edges of your images so that they
F		can be joined to form a panorama picture using the
		software supplied with the camera.
>	Surf	Lets you take clear, vivid pictures of water, such as the
		sea or a lake, in bright sunshine.
;	Snow	Lets you take photos against dazzling backgrounds
		such as snow-covered mountains.
		Lets you take pictures of yourself, either alone or with
S	Self-portrait	others. (The focus is controlled to take into account the
		shooting distance (arm length).)
	Night Scene	Lets you capture evening or night views or take pictures
B		of people against a nightscape. (The camera has a max.
	Portrait	slow shutter speed of four seconds and features slow
		synchronization and noise reduction functions.)
K	Food	Lets you take pictures of prepared food that looks really
		appetizing.
J	Museum	Lets you capture exhibits and works of art in museums
		and galleries without using the flash.
E	Pet	Lets you capture lifelike pictures of your pet.
\	Sport	Lets you take sharp pictures of a quickly moving subject,
		such as at a sporting event.
^	Fireworks	Lets you take clear photos of fireworks.
