Setting the AE Metering

You can set the area of the screen where the brightness is metered to determine the exposure.

L	Multi-segment	The camera divides the image into 256 areas, meters the
L	metering	brightness and determines the exposure.
	Center-weighted	The camera takes a reading of the overall brightness of
M	Center-weighted	the picture with the center of the image having more
M	metering	the picture with the center of the image having more
		influence on the exposure.
N	Spot AE metering	The camera determines the exposure by metering the
N	Spot AE metering	brightness only at the center of the image.

1 Press the 3button in Amode.

The [ARec. Mode] menu appears.

2 Use the four-way controller (23) to select [AE Metering]. 3 Press the four-way controller (5).
