Using the display correctly
CAUTION
!Ifliquid or foreign matter should get inside
thisunit, turn off the power immediately and

PIONEERService Station. Do not use the unit
inthis condition because doing so may result
infire, electric shock, or other failure.
!Ifyou notice smoke, a strange noise or smell,
orany other abnormal signs from the display,
turnoff the power immediately and consult
yourdealer or the nearest authorized
PIONEERService Station. Using this unit in
thiscondition may result in permanent da-
mageto the system.
!Donot disassemble or modify this unit, as
thereare high-voltage components inside
whichmay cause electric shock. Be sure to
consultyour dealer or the nearest authorized
PIONEERService Station for internal inspec-
tion,adjustments, or repairs.

Handling the display

!Donot allow direct sunlight to fall on the
displaywhen this unit is not being used.
Extendedexposure to direct sunlight can
resultin LCD screen malfunction due to
theresulting high temperatures.
!Nevertouch the screen with anything be-
sidesyour finger whenoperating the touch
panelfunction. The screen can scratch ea-
sily.
!Whenthe display is subjected to direct sun-
lightfor a long period of time, it will be-
comevery hot resulting in possible
damageto the LCD screen. You should
avoidexposing the display unit to direct
sunlightas much as possible.
!Thedisplay should be used within the tem-
peratureranges shown below.
Storagetemperature range: -20 °C to +80
°C
Attemperatures higher or lower than the
operatingtemperature range, the display
maynot operate normally.
!TheLCD screen is exposed in order to in-
creaseits visibility within the vehicle.
Pleasedo not press strongly on it as this
maydamage it.
!Donot push the LCD screen forcefully as
thismay scratch it.

Liquid crystal display (LCD) screen

!Heatfrom the heater may damage the LCD
screen,and cool air from the cooler may
causemoisture to form inside the display
resultingin possible damage. Also, if the
displayis cooled down by the cooler, the
screenmay become dark, or the life span
ofthe small fluorescent tube used inside
thedisplay may be shortened.
!Smallblack dots or white dots (bright dots)
mayappear on the LCD screen. These are
dueto the characteristics of the LCD
screenand do not indicate a problem with
thedisplay.
!Atlow temperatures, the LCD screen may
bedark for a while after the power is turned
on.
!TheLCD screen will be difficult to see if it is
exposedto direct sunlight.
!Whenusing a portable phone, keep the an-
tennaof the portable phone away from the
displayto prevent disruption of the videoby
theappearance of spots, colored stripes,
etc.

Changing the wide screen size

Bychanging the screen size from 4:3 to 16:9,
youcan adjust the screen so that the screen
canfit to the video image you are playing.
