Variable Speed Picture Search Using the SHUTTLE DIAL on the VCR
The SHUTTLE DIAL on the VCR lets you search a picture during playback at variable speeds in both forward and reverse. Sound is turned off during picture search. The picture is best for tapes recorded in the SP or SLP speed.
1. Turn the SHUTTLE DIAL on the VCR while in Play or Still mode |

• The more you turn the dial, the faster the search speed. | PAUSE |

• When the SHUTTLE DIAL on the VCR is turned more than |

half way in stop mode, normal Fast Forward or Rewind |

• Some noise bars are normal during shuttle operation. |

• After 3 minutes in Still or Slow, the VCR will go into Stop |
|

mode. |

• When the SHUTTLE DIAL is released, the VCR goes into Still |

2. Press PLAY•PAUSE on the VCR, or PLAY or PAUSE on the |
|
| |
remote to return to normal playback and turn off the shuttle |
|
| |
feature. |

Variable Speed Picture Search and Frame Advance Using JOG SHUTTLE on the Remote Control
During playback, the JOG SHUTTLE button and the left (5) or right (6) arrow let you search a tape at variable speeds in both forward and reverse. The JOG SHUTTLE button and the up (4) or down (3) arrow let you view one
Sound is turned off during picture search and frame advance. The picture is best for tapes recorded in the SP or SLP speed.
1. Press JOG SHUTTLE on the remote during playback. The indicator in the center of the arrows lights, and the VCR enters pause.
•Press and quickly release 6 on the remote to search forward slowly. Press and hold 6 to search faster.
•Press and quickly release 5 on the remote to search in reverse slowly. Press and hold 5 to search faster.
•Press 4 or 3 on the remote while VCR is searching to place the VCR in pause. Press 4 to advance or 3 to reverse the picture one frame at a time.
2. Press PLAY•PAUSE on the VCR, or PLAY or PAUSE on the remote to return to normal playback and turn off the jog shuttle feature.
Pressing a button other than a JOG SHUTTLE button, except TRACKING UP or TRACKING DOWN, turns off the jog shuttle and indicator.
