4.14 ADJUSTING CUTTING HEIGHT
The mower deck can be adjusted from a height of 1-inch
to 4-1/2 inches at 1/2-inch intervals. To adjust the cutting
height:
4.15 TILTING THE CUTTER DECK
WARNING:
Do not tilt the mower deck with the mower blades
rotating. Shut off the engine and remove the
ignition key. Bodily injury could occur from the
rotating blades.
The mower deck can be tilted up for road travel, blade
replacement, etc. To tilt the deck up:
1. Shut off the engine and remove the ignition key.
2. Unlatch the prop rod from one side of the cutter deck
and raise the mower deck as shown in Figure 4-14.
Install the prop rod in the bracket on the tractor.
3. Repeat step 2 for the other side of the cutter deck.
Do not adjust the cutting height with the mower
blades rotating. Shut off the engine and remove
the ignition key. Bodily injury could occur from
the rotating blades.
1. Shut off the engine and remove the ignition key.
2. Remove the two hairpins from the adjusting pins on
one side of the cutter deck (Figure 4-13).
3. Lift or lower the deck to the desired cutting height
and install the hairpins. A deck height decal is
located on the deck as an aid in adjusting the deck to
the desired height.
4. Repeat the above process on the other side of the
cutter deck.

4-16 REMOVING THE CUTTER DECK
A. Removal
The cutter deck can be removed for maintenance of the
deck; such as cleaning, blade removal, and blade
sharpening.
1. Disconnect the drive shaft from the tractor by pulling
back on the collar of the drive shaft (Figure 4-15)
and sliding the drive shaft forward off the splined
shaft of the spindle.
