General
Warning:
The voltage used must be the same as that s pecified by this unit. Using this product
with a higher voltage other than that specified is dangerous and may result in a fire or
other types of accident, causing damage. SHARP will not be held responsible for any
damage resulting from the use of this unit with a voltage other than that specified.
Volume control
The sound level at a given volume setting depends on speaker efficiency, location
and various other factors. It is advisable to avoid exposure to high volume levels,
which occurs while turning the unit on with the volume control setting up high, or
while continually listening at high volumes.
Care of DVD/SACD/CD discs
DVD/SACD/CD discs are fairly resistant to damage, however mistracking can occur
due to an accumulation of dirt on the disc surface. Follow the guidelines below for
maximum enjoym ent from your DVD/SACD/CD collection and player.
zDo not write on either side of the disc, par ticular ly the non-label side from which
signals are read. Do not mark this surf ace.
zK eep your discs away from direct sunlight, heat, and excessive moisture.
zAlways hold the DVD/SACD/CDs by the edges. Finger prints, dirt , or water on the
DVD/SACD/CDs can cause noise or mistracking. If a DVD/SACD/CD is dirty or
does not play properly, clean it with a soft, dr y cloth, wiping straight out from the
center, along the radius.
zPlease ensure that the equipment is positioned in a well-vent ilated area and that
there is at least 4" (10 cm) of free space along the sides and back. T here must also
be a minimum of 6" (15 cm) of free s pace on the top of the unit.
zUse the unit on a firm, level su rface free from vibra-
tion.
zKeep the unit away from direct sunlight, strong m ag-
netic fields, excessive dust, humidity and electronic/
electrical equipment (home computers, facsimiles,
etc.) which generate electrical noise.
zDo not place anything on top of the unit.
zDo not expose the unit to moisture, to t em peratures
higher than 140°F (60°C) or to extremely low temper-
atures.
zIf the unit does not work properly, unplug and plug it
in again. Then turn on the unit.
zIn case of an electrical storm, unplug the unit for safe-
ty.
zHold the AC power plug by the head when removing
it from the AC outlet, as pulling the cord can damage
internal wires.
