Deactivating the HTTP Proxy

Make sure that the HTTP Proxy in your Web browser is deactivated. This function must be deactivated so that your Web browser can access your Gigaset SX541 WLAN dsl's configuration pages.

The following section describes the procedure for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. First decide which browser you are using and then follow the appropriate steps.

Internet Explorer

ìOpen Internet Explorer and click End. Click Tools and then on Internet Options.

ìIn the Internet Options window, click the Connections tab.ìClick Settings.ìDeactivate all options in the Settings for Local Area Network (LAN) window.ìClick OK and then OK again to close the Internet Options window.Mozilla FirefoxìOpen Mozilla Firefox. Click Tools and then on Settings.ìIn the Settings window, click Connection Settings... .

ìIn the Connection Settings window, select the option Direct connection to the Internet.

ìClick OK to finish.Configuring a Popup Blocker

If working with Windows XP Service Pack 2, popups are blocked by default. You must allow popups for the configuration program in order to start it. Carry out the following steps:

ìRight-click the browser information bar.ìSelect Allow popups from this screen.ìConfirm the dialogue window by clicking on OK.

The configuration screens for the Gigaset SX541 WLAN dsl are now allowed as popups. You can make additional settings for popups within Internet Explorer
