Security Settings

Assigning a Password

In the first step of the setup you can change the password for the user interface. When supplied, the configuration of your Gigaset SX541 WLAN dsl is protected with the password admin. To prevent unauthorised changes to the configuration, you should change this password from time to time.

ìEnter the old password in the Current password field.

ìEnter a new password in the New password field, and repeat it in the Confirm new password field.

The password can be up to 12 alphanumerical characters long. Avoid proper names and all too obvious words. Mix letters and numbers together.

Please remember:

If you ever forget your password you will have to reset your Gigaset SX541 WLAN dsl (see page 18). Please bear in mind that this will restore all the settings to the factory configuration. No password will be active either.
