Before operating the unit, please read this manual thoroughly and retain it for future reference.

The AC-V16/V17 AC power adaptor can be used as follows:

•to charge a Sony Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) type battery pack except NP-22H

•to supply power to an 8 mm video

equipment*

*This adaptor cannot be used for some models.

WARNING

AC power cord must be changed only at the qualified service shop.

WARNING

To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture.

To avoid electrical shock, do not open the cabinet. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.

TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT USE THIS POLARIZED AC PLUG WITH AN EXTENSION CORD, RECEPTACLE OR OTHER OUTLET UNLESS THE BLADES CAN BE FULLY INSERTED TO PREVENT BLADE EXPOSURE.

AC power cord plug

One blade of the plug is wider than the other for the purpose of safety and will fit into the power outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, contact your dealer.

THIS APPARATUS COMPLIES WITH THE CLASS B LIMITS FOR RADIO NOISE EMISSIONS SET OUT IN RADIO INTERFERENCE REGULATIONS.

NOTICE FOR CUSTOMERS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

A moulded plug complying with BS 1363 is fitted to this equipment for your safety and convenience.

Should the fuse in the plug supplied need to be replaced, a fuse of the same rating as the supplied one and approved by ASTA or BSI to BS 1362, (i.e., marked with or mark) must be used.

If the plug supplied with this equipment has a detachable fuse cover, be sure to attach the fuse cover after you change the fuse. Never use the plug without the fuse cover. If you should lose the fuse cover, please contact your nearest Sony service station.

WARNING

To prevent shock hazard, do not insert the plug cut off from the mains lead into a socket outlet. This plug cannot be used and should be destroyed.

Charging the Battery Pack (See illustration A)1 Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

The POWER lamp (green) lights up.

2 Install the battery pack. Align the right side of the battery pack with the line on the AC power adaptor, then while pressing the battery pack, slide it in the direction of the arrow.

3 Set the selector to CHARGE. The CHARGE lamp (orange) lights up. Charging begins.

To stop charging

Set the selector to VTR.

When charging is completed

The CHARGE lamp (orange) goes out . Set the selector to VTR and unplug the unit.

To remove the battery pack

Slide the battery pack in the opposite direction of the arrow.

Recharge de la batterie rechargeable (Voirl’illustration A )1 Brancher le cordon d’alimentation sur une prise murale.

Le témoin POWER (vert) s’allume.

2 Installer la batterie rechargeable.

Aligner le côté droit de la batterie rechargeable sur la ligne sur l'adaptateur secteur, puis tout en appuyant sur la batterie rechargeable, la pousser dans le sens de la flèche.

3 Régler le sélecteur sur CHARGE.

Le témoin CHARGE (orange) s'allume. La recharge commence.

Pour arrêter la recharge

Régler le sélecteur sur VTR.

Notes

•Video equipment cannot be operated while charging the battery pack.

•The POWER lamp will remain lit for a while even if the battery pack is removed and the power cord is unplugged after charging the battery pack. This is normal.

•If the POWER lamp does not light, set the selector to VTR and disconnect the power cord. After about one minute, reconnect the power cord and set the selector to CHARGE again.

Une lame de la fiche est plus grande que l'autre pour des raisons de sécurité et la fiche ne rentre dans la prise que dans un seul sens.

Si la fiche ne peut pas être insérée à fond dans la prise, contacter le concessionnaire Sony.

Remarques

•Il est impossible de faire fonctionner l’appareil vidéo pendant la recharge de la batterie.

•Il est normal que le témoin POWER reste allumé quelques instants après avoir enlevé la batterie rechargeable et débranché le cordon d’alimentation quand la recharge est terminée.

•Si le témoin POWER ne s’allume pas, régler le sélecteur sur VTR et débrancher le cordon d’alimentation. Au bout d’une minute environ, rebrancher le cordon d’alimentation secteur et régler de nouveau le sélecteur sur CHARGE.

Carga de una batería(Consulte la ilustración

A)

1 Conecte el cable de alimentación a una toma de la red.

La lámpara POWER (verde) se encenderá.

2 Coloque la batería.

Alinee el lado derecho de la batería y después, presionando la batería con la línea del adaptador de alimentación de ca, deslícela en el sentido de la flecha.

3 Ponga el selector en CHARGE.

La lámpara CHARGE (anaranjada) se encenderá. Se iniciará la carga.

Para detener la carga

Ponga el selector en VTR.

Cuando finalice la carga

La lámpara CHARGE (anaranjada) apagará Ponga el selector en VTR y desenchufe la unidad.

Para quitar la batería

Deslícela en el sentido opuesto al de la flecha.

Die CHARGE-Anzeige (orange) leuchtet auf, und der Ladevorgang beginnt. Zum Stoppen des Lade- oder Entladevorgangs nehmen Sie den Akku ab und trennen Sie den netzadapter ab.

Stellen Sie den Wähler auf VTR.

Am Ende des Ladevorgangs

Die CHARGE-Anzeige (orange) leuchtet auf. Stellen Sie den Wähler dann auf VTR, und trennen Sie den Adapter ab.

Zum Abnehmen des Akkus

Schieben Sie den Akku in der entgegengesetzten Pfeilrichtung.
