Playback
“Simultaneous Rec and Play” allows you to
play a disc or a previously recorded
programme on the HDD while recording
programmes. Playback continues even if a
timer recording starts.
1Press TITLE LIST during recording.
The Title List appears.
• To play a disc, press DVD and insert
the disc beforehand.
2Select a title to play, and press .
Playback starts from the selected title.
You can search a disc by title, chapter, or
track. As titles and tracks are assigned
individual numbers, select them by entering
the appropriate number. You can also search
for a scene using the time code.

2Select a search method, using M/m.
“Title Search” (for HDD/DVDs)
“Chap.Search” (for HDD/DVDs)
“Track Search” (for VIDEO CDs*)
“Time Search” (for HDD/DVDs/
VIDEO CDs*): Searches for a starting
point by entering the time code.
* When playing with PBC functions, cancel
the functions by pressing TITLE LIST
before step 1.
3Select the number of the title,
chapter, time code, etc., you want
using the number buttons or </,.
For example: Time Search
To find a scene at 2 hours, 10 minutes,
and 20 seconds, enter “21020.”
If you make a mistake, select another
number.
4Press .
Playback starts from the selected
number.
To close the “Play Mode” menu
Press INFO, ORETURN, or SYSTEM
MENU.
To make a favourite scene (HDD only)
You can have the recorder store specific
portions of the title in memory and play
immediately whenever you want. Up to 99
markings can be set.
1Press MARKER during playback.
The marker menu appears at the bottom
of the screen.
2Select a scene you want to mark using
N, X, or m/M.
3Press the red button (“Add”) at the scene
you want to mark.
The marker is added.
To search for the marked scene, press
</, or ./>.
To delete a marker, select the marker
using </, or ./>, and press
the green button (“Delete”).
To exit the marker menu, press
MARKER again.
You can repeatedly play all the tracks or a
single title/chapter/track on the HDD or a
disc.

2Select “Repeat” using M/m.
