Settings (GENERAL SETUP)TV DISPLAY
The sh ape o f the TV or monitor may not match the s hape of th e
movie frame. To avoid distor tion on older TVs, you may nee d to
change the way in which the image is displayed. T Vs use a 4:3 aspec t
ratio; high-definition TVs use 16:9 aspect ratio (as do movies).
Note:
You may need to read your TV’s manu al in conju nction with this
section in order to achieve the best results. Some discs do not allow
the aspect ratio to be changed and you will therefore have to change
the aspect ratio on the TV.
Make thi s set ting while playback is s topped; you cannot do
this while playing back a disc.
4:3 PAN SCAN
This mode is used w ith 4:3 TVs. 4:3 im ages are displayed nor mally.
When showing 16:9 programm es, the full height of the screen is
displayed, and the lef t and right par t of the image are cu t off.

4:3 LETTER BOX
This mode is used w ith 4:3 TVs. 4:3 im ages are displayed nor mally.
16:9 images are visib le at their full width, bu t there are b lank area
at the top and bottom of the screen.

< S ome wide -screen discs that do not permit the Pan Scan mode
playback are automatically played in Letter Box mode.
< D epe ndin g on the DVD , 4: 3 Le tter Box may be s ele cte d
automatically instead of 4:3 Pan Scan and vice versa.
< I f 16: 9 ( Wide) is sele cted and a nor mal TV is connec ted, 16:9
content will appear distorted during playback (objects look thin).
OSD (On Screen Display) LANGUAGE
Select the desired language for onscreen menus of DR-H338i from
the following:
ENGLISH (Default)
FRANÇAIS
DEUTSCH
ITALIANO
ESPAÑOL
NEDERLANDS
SCREEN SAVER
ON (Default)
The scre en saver st arts up if no thing is pl ayed bac k a nd no
operations are performed for 4 minutes.
OFF
The screen saver does not start up.
DIVX(R) CODE
In case you need the registration code to play DivX files, select this.
The registration code of the player will be displayed.
