10. Internal Battery

The ETH-100 interface has an internal battery that is used to backup the file system containing the unit configuration and point database information when the unit is unpowered. This battery is designed to last the lifetime of the product under normal use. However, if the interface is left unpowered for several years, the battery may become exhausted. For this reason, always be certain to download the configured point file to a PC via the xmodem protocol so that it will be available for uploading again if the battery fails and requires replacement. Additionally, it is recommended to record the IP address, netmask and gateway settings in the notes section (section 15) of this manual for future reference.

The battery is a soldered-in type, and is not user-replaceable. If the battery becomes discharged, contact ICC for replacement assistance.
