4.After using the emergency switch, turn off the main switch, then turn it back on. This resets the warning system to nor- mal operation. The yellow segment will continue to be displayed on the oil level indicator.

5.Start the engine and return to the near- est port for more oil.

NOTE:

●The maximum reserve oil capacity is 1500 cm3 (1.6 US qt, 1.31 Imp qt).

●The oil-feed pump will not operate if the engine is tilted up more than 35°. Put the engine in the upright position (not tilted) before using the emergency switch.

Treatment of submerged motor

If the outboard motor is submerged, immediately take it to a Yamaha dealer. Otherwise some corrosion may begin almost immedi- ately.

If you cannot immediately take the outboard motor to a Yamaha dealer, follow the procedure below in order to minimize engine dam- age.
