Security code Call screening

Your Freestyle 1025 has a security PIN code which must be entered when remotely accessing the answering machine. This ensures your messages are private and can be accessed only by the users who know the security code. Your Freestyle 1025 answering machine has a preset security code of 0 0 0 .

To set the security PIN code

A new security code can only be set via the handset.

Menu	Press the SCREEN/MENU button.

0	Press the 0 button.

To set a new security PIN code press ✱.

Press the # button to hear security code.

Enter a 3-digit code after you hear the beep. Your Freestyle 1025 announces the new security PIN code.

You can let your answer machine pick up a call, even if you are in. This allows you to identify the caller and decide whether to take the call.

Make sure that the volume is set to an audible level (see page 17).

Allow the incoming call to be answered by your Freestyle 1025 as normal. You will hear the caller begin to leave a message.

To screen a call from the base unit

Press buttons in order shown

If the handset is resting on the base unit and you decide to take the call, lift the handset and speak to the caller.

Recording will stop automatically.

To screen a call via the handset

Screen Press the SCREEN/MENU button to return your Freestyle 1025 to standby.

When your Freestyle 1025 starts to record an incoming message, the IN USE light flashes.

Press the SCREEN/MENU button.

The Freestyle 1025 will return to standby automatically after 8 seconds.

Screen You can hear the caller on the handset.

Or

To interrupt recording and talk to your caller, press the TALK button.
