8.11Installing a Battery Backup Unit (BBU)

Authorized specialist personnel can carry out replacement tasks for integral server components. Ask you local Fujitsu service center for more detailed information.
VCAUTION!
Procedures indicated as "Authorized personnel only“ must be done by Fujitsu service personnel or technicians trained by Fujitsu for doing these tasks. Please note that unauthorized interference with the system will void the warranty and exempt the manufacturer from all liability.
VCAUTION!
●Do not connect the cable using excessive force, the connector is weak.
●Follow the safety instructions in the "Safety instructions" on page 31.
The Battery Backup Unit (BBU) backs up the memory contents of the SAS RAID controller in the event of a power failure. A maximum of two BBUs can be installed for each system.
IThe RX900 S1 server can be equipped with one Modular RAID controller and two SAS RAID controllers but only for two of these RAID controllers a BBU can be installed.
