CONFIGURATION

Overview

The BitStorm 4800 Express is designed to require minimal configuration before it can be accessed by a Network Operations Center (NOC). When the BitStorm 4800 Express is first powered up it is a fully functional bridge, and all DSL ports are set to their maximum speed.

Initial configuration is performed using the Command Line Interface (CLI). The CLI is available from a terminal or PC connected to the CONSOLE port, or through the management port (Port 1).

Additional configuration may be necessary, depending on the mode used to manage the BitStorm 4800 Express:

z

z

Inband

Out of band through Port 1

This can be performed using the CLI, SNMP, or the web interface.

For more configuration information, see the BitStorm 4800 Express Model 4821-A2 Command Line Interface Reference (for the CLI) and the online Help (for the web interface).
