PLACEMENT

Since the installation of a subwoofer can be somewhat more complicated than installing full-range speakers, it is essential that you read this section very carefully prior to connecting the subwoofer to your system. Should you have questions relating to your installation, it is advisable to call either your dealer or Infinity’s Customer Service Department for advice.

The performance of the subwoofer is directly related to its placement in the listening room and how you align the subwoofer with its satellite speakers. Setting the volume of the subwoofer in relationship to the left and right speakers is also of critical importance because it is essential that the subwoofer integrate smoothly with the entire system. Setting the subwoofer’s volume level too high will result in an overpowering, boomy bass. Setting the volume level too low will negate the benefits of the subwoofer.

Here are several additional facts on installation that may prove useful. It is generally believed by most audio authorities that low frequencies (below 125Hz) are nondirectional and, therefore, placement of a subwoofer within any listening room is not critical. While in theory it is true that the larger wavelengths of extremely low frequencies are basically nondirectional, the fact is that, when installing a subwoofer within the limited confines of a room, reflections, standing waves and absorptions generated within the room will strongly influence the performance of any subwoofer system. As a result, the specific location of the subwoofer becomes important, and we strongly recommend that you experiment with placement before choosing a final location.

Placement will depend upon your room and the amount and quality of bass required (for example, whether or not your room permits placement of the subwoofer near either satellite).

1200S specifications

The Infinity 1200S is an advanced speaker system that brings exceptional sound quality and innovative technology to the forefront. Recognized for its striking design and performance, the Infinity 1200S is suitable for audiophiles and casual listeners alike.

At its core, the Infinity 1200S features a robust two-way design, combining a high-performance woofer and a precision-engineered tweeter. This configuration results in a broad frequency response, ensuring that low, mid, and high ranges are delivered seamlessly. The 12-inch woofer is crafted to produce deep, rich bass tones, while the 1-inch silk dome tweeter provides crystal-clear high frequencies, making this speaker capable of handling various genres of music with ease.

One of the standout technologies of the Infinity 1200S is its proprietary Bass Reflection Technology. This innovative feature utilizes a specially designed enclosure to enhance the bass response without compromising clarity in the mids and highs. The rear-firing bass port allows for deeper bass without the bulk of traditional subwoofers. This technology enables the 1200S to deliver a powerful soundstage that can easily fill large rooms.

The Infinity 1200S also incorporates advanced materials in its construction. The cabinet is made from high-density MDF, which minimizes resonance and vibration, leading to enhanced audio fidelity. The speakers are finished in an elegant wood veneer, ensuring that they are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing to fit into any home decor.

In terms of connectivity, the Infinity 1200S is equipped with versatile options, including speaker wire terminals and compatibility with various audio devices. Whether connecting to a home theater system, a stereo receiver, or a modern streaming device, the 1200S is designed to handle it all.

Moreover, the speakers feature adjustable bass and treble controls, allowing users to fine-tune their listening experience according to their preferences. With its stylish appearance, advanced technology, and exceptional sound quality, the Infinity 1200S stands out as a remarkable choice for entertainers, musicians, and home theater enthusiasts. It serves as a testament to Infinity’s commitment to excellence in audio engineering, blending innovative design with high-performance capabilities to produce an unforgettable listening experience.
