FIRMWARE REVISION HISTORY

There are two types of firmware on the SD3, micro and flash. The micro is located on the microprocessor and contains the basic functions needed for startup plus some essential operating system routines. This is programmed into the microprocessor at the factory and can only be updated by changing the microprocessor. The revision of the micro firmware is displayed on the power up screen right after the flash firmware revision, preceded by the letter “M”. The latest version is M3.

M1 – This was the first release and works with flash revision 1.00 through 1.08.

M2 – This version is required to update to flash revision 1.10 and higher and won’t work with earlier revisions. Some routines were added to accommodate new features.

M3 – This is the latest version and works with flash revision 1.10 and higher. It allows compatibility with more brands of CF cards as well as 2GB cards.

The bulk of the firmware for the SD3 is in the flash memory and can be updated using the CF drive or COM port. This file can be downloaded from elationlighting.com from the download section of the web site. The SD3 displays its current flash memory revision on the power up screen as “Revision X.XX”. The following is a list of the revisions with any changes and fixes.
