Put your foot on the frame or wheel to steady the unit when you'pull thestarter rope. Hold thegun inyour left hand with the trigger open while starting the engine.
Grasp the starter rope grip and rapidly pull out the cord two orthreefeet (1 m). Repeatif necessary withthe chokeopened slightly. Whenthe engine starts, im-
mediately release theguntrigger. Open thechoke gradually.

Follow theseprecautions when removing and in- stalling nozzles:
1.Shut off the cleaning unit andtriggerthe gun to relieve pressure. Engage the trigger safety.
2 . Keep the nozzle andthetubepointedaway from you and everyone else.
3.Do not put your hand over the tip to push the nozzle into place. Grasp it from the side and keep your fingers away from the tip.
4.Donotlet anyone else touchthe spray valve while you are cleaning nozzles.
5.Be sure the slip ring is pushed forward to lock the nozzle in place before triggering thespray gun.
Shutdown and Care Of Unit
When unit is not in use, turn off water supply,
When shutting down for the day or weekend, shut off unit,shut off watersupply valve, andtrigger gunto release pressure. Wipe off the unit with a damp rag.

Check the filter screen in the water inlet connection as often as necessary, at least daily. Do not operatethe unit with the inlet and filter screen removed.
DO NOT try to adjust the unloader valve or change the enginespeed. Changingthesesettingsmay cause ex-
cessivepressure, intermittent unloaderoperation, wasted fuel and increased wear on parts.
PUMP MUST NOT BE RUN DRY and must be drained of water priorto exposure to freezing temperatures.Use
andstorethe unit where it willnotbesubjected to freezing temperatures. If water does freeze in the unit, thaw before trying to start. A 50%

CAUTION
pour hot water on a frozenpump. A sudden
temperaturechangemay crack the ceramic plungers.
Do not pump caustic materials.
Before extended storage, flush the pump with light oil.
Avoid dragging hoseover an abrasive surface~suchas cement.This causesexcessivewear andshorterhose life.
Clean the intake line strainer daily.
Lubrication and Care
Change theengine oil after every 100 hoursof opera- tion. Drain oilwith enginewarm. Engine requires 1 quart (0.96 liters) 30W oil. Seeseparate instruction manual for maintenance procedures.
Fill pump crankcase to dot on oil gauge window with
25oz. (0.75 liters) of crankcase oil (part
andrustinhibitoradditives. Change initialfillafter 50 hourrunningperiod. Changeoil every 3 months or at
500hour intervals.
NEVER alter adjustment o valve.
Altering or adjustingunloader will not increase performance of unit.
Serviceof theunloadermustbeperformedonly
