HI-FI STEREO SOUND WITH BUILT-IN MTS/SAP DECODER Record stereo videotapes from stereo sound sources and playback pre-recordedhi-fi stereo tapes in hi-fi stereo sound–with an excellent 90dB+ dynamic range–through a stereo-equipped TV or regular TV and stereo hi-fi home audio system. The built-in MTS/SAP decoder allows reception and recording of off-air television stereo broadcasts and second audio program transmissions, where available. Backup memory logic retains the cable channel guide map indefinitely, even during a power failure or when the VCR is disconnected from its power source.

VCR PLUS+C3™ PROGRAMMING SYSTEM WITH CABLE BOX CONTROL Simplifies VCR programming by allowing you to simply enter PlusCode® programming numbers, for both regular and Cable TV channels, found in many television listings. When recording begins, your VCR automatically selects the proper TV channel and program length. Backup memory logic retains the cable channel guide map indefinitely even during a power failure or when the VCR is disconnected from its power source.

Combines direct drive cylinder and capstan motors with a precision digital servo control to produce excellent special effects reproduction–Still, Slow, and with the appropriate remote control, Frame Advance, Variable Slow Motion and X2 Play–in both SP and SLP speeds.

DIGITAL AUTO TRACKING SYSTEM When tape playback begins, this feature automatically seeks the optimum tracking position in the tracking range, and the optimum audio signal tracking position for clearest picture and sound from videotapes. Controls are provided on the remote transmitter to give you manual control should tracking adjustments be necessary.

SMARTCLOCK™ Once activated, this menu- driven feature will automatically maintain the correct time, regularly checking and updating the time if necessary. This function will also reset the clock after a power failure.The menu-driven time zone feature allows selection of appropriate time for those who live in a time zone other that that of their CATV service provider.

AUTOMATIC CHANNEL SETUP Activating this feature allows the VCR tuner to scan through television frequencies, automatically storing active broadcast channels into memory.Then, only active channels programmed into memory are tuned, using the channel up/down buttons on either the remote or front panel of the VCR. Automatic channel preset can be repeated whenever desired, should new channels become available. Channels can be manually added or deleted.

FRONT PANEL AUDIO/VIDEO INPUTS Provide added convenience to the equipment such as a video game or CD-i player which can be connected for direct playthrough to the TV set.

181-CHANNEL FS TUNING The digital quartz tuner is capable of receiving up to 181 channels, including UHF, VHF, and 113 cable channels, without the inconvenience and expense of a cable company decoder/converter (on non-scrambled cable systems). Channel tuning is by random access with the remote control transmitter or scan tuning up and down by remote or at the set.

CLOCK/FUNCTION DISPLAY Continuously alerts the user to all important recording and playback conditions, correct time, counter position, tape speed, channel number, etc. When the VCR is turned off, the time display automatically dims, to make it less distracting.

BILINGUAL (ENGLISH/SPANISH) ON-SCREEN FUNCTION DISPLAY Indicates record/playback functions, channel number, clock setting, date, counter, programming, one-touch record and record standby, keeping the user alerted to the status of all features in a heads up, on-screen display.

ON-SCREEN, REAL-TIME COUNTER WITH GO-TO

Unlike the 0000 to 9999 tape counters found in standard VCRs, this unit incorporates a linear, real- time counter which shows elapsed recording and/or playback time in hours, minutes, and seconds. Used with the numerical keypad and the GO-TO button on the remote control, the user can advance or return to any specific point on the video cassette.

TIMER/PROGRAMMER BACKUP SYSTEM Retains timer programming information for up to three full minutes in the event of momentary power interruptions.

VARIABLE SLOW MOTION View SP or SLP video recordings in slow motion in both forward and reverse modes. Slow motion speed can be adjusted from 1/5th to 1/60th normal speed in either direction.

21X FORWARD/REVERSE LATCHING SEARCH

Search in forward or reverse mode at 21 times normal playing speed in SLP, and 7 times normal in SP. The Latching Search feature provides continuous forward or reverse search with a single touch of the control. A second touch stops the search operation and returns the unit to the Play mode.

SKIP SEARCH This feature allows short-distance “hops” in the playback mode making it easier to find those elusive previously recorded scenes. With just one touch of the Frame Advance button on the remote you can fast forward the tape for 30 seconds and then return to the Play mode automatically.

INDEX SEARCH Automatically searches for the index mark placed on a videotape and takes you directly to that precise point instantly.

REMOTE LOCATOR™ Lost or misplaced remotes are easy to find! Simply press the Power button on the VCR. The words “Locating Remote” will appear on the screen, and the remote control beeps–leading you right to it.

BACKLIT LED REMOTE CONTROL Makes it easy to use all remote VCR functions even in low light conditions. No more fumbling with tiny buttons; just press the glow- in-the-dark LIGHT button and all major function buttons light up.
