ROHS is a European Directive aiming to control the use of certain hazardous substances in the production of new electrical and electronic equipment. Philips has completely eliminated four of six RoHS-banned substances form its products by 1998-eight full years before compliance was required and has lowered usage of the remaining substances significantly below the mandated levels.

This monitor is equipped with a function for saving energy which supports the VESA DPM standard. This means that the monitor must be connected to a computer which supports VESA DPM. Time settings are adjusted from the system unit by software.
