Using different types of paper

You can use any of the following types of paper with your LC24-30 Colour printer: single sheets, fanfold paper and multi-part forms.

Single sheets are individual, unconnected pieces of paper. They are also referred to as cut sheets. Up to fifty-five single sheets can be stacked in the paper tray and fed automatically into the printer.

You can load single sheets into the printer in either por- trait (upright) or landscape (widthwise) orientation, pro- vided that the width of the paper does not exceed 11”.

Fanfold forms are sheets of paper joined with perfora- tions. Fanfold forms usually have a column of holes punched into each edge which enables the printer to grip the paper as it is fed through. Fanfold paper is also sometimes referred to as computer paper, continuous forms or sprocket forms. If you want to use fanfold paper, you will need to install the optional push tractor unit (FT-1OQ). Installation of the push tractor unit is described on page 72 of Chapter 5.

When using fanfold paper, be careful not to print too close to the perforations at the top and bottom of each sheet. This can cause poor quality output, paper mis- alignment or paper jamming. The recommended print- able areas for fanfold paper and for cut sheets are shown in the diagram on the next page.

Multi-part forms consist of several sheets, one on top of another, enabling several copies to be made simulta- neously. Multi-part forms may be joined together, as fanfold stationery. If you want to use multi-part forms, use the type that has both side edges glued together. Do not use forms that have more than three parts.
