Troubleshooting

Q1: After connecting the Fiber Converter, the LEDs do not turn on. What

should I do?

A1: First, check that the power outlet is receiving power. Second, make sure the power adapter is firmly connected to the Fiber Converter and the power outlet. Third, make sure the Ethernet and the Fiber cables are connected.

Q2: All the LEDs are on, but I can't make a connection. What should I do? A2: First, verify that you are using the proper fiber cable (e.g. multi- mode fiber cable for multi-mode converters; single-mode fiber cables for single-mode converters). Second, verify that the TX and RX cables have been reversed on the opposite Fiber connection. Third, power down the Fiber Converters and the switches. Wait 15 seconds, then plug the switches and the Fiber Converters back in.

Q3: What is the maximum distance that is supported by the Fiber Converter? A3: Please refer to Product Detail for distance information.

Q4: After connecting the Chassis to a power outlet, the LEDs do not turn on. A4: First, check that the power outlet is receiving power. Second, make sure the power cord is firmly connected to the chassis and the power outlet. Third, make sure the power switch is flipped to the ON position.

TFC-210 SERIES, TFC-2000 SERIES, TFC-1000 specifications

TRENDnet is renowned for its reliable networking solutions, and their fiber media converters are no exception. Among the standout offerings are the TFC-1000, TFC-2000, and TFC-210 series, designed to enhance network performance and flexibility.

The TFC-1000 series is engineered for robust performance in converting Fast (100Mbps) and Gigabit (1000Mbps) Ethernet signals to fiber optic signals. This series supports various fiber types, including multimode and single-mode, allowing it to cater to diverse networking environments. With a compact design, these converters are ideal for deploying in tight spaces, and they offer a simple plug-and-play setup, eliminating the need for complex configuration. The TFC-1000 series effectively extends network distances, reaching up to 120 kilometers depending on the module used, making it a suitable choice for organizations with expansive facilities.

The TFC-2000 series takes it a step further, providing more versatility and advanced features. Designed for Gigabit fiber connections, these converters support various protocols, ensuring compatibility with numerous devices. The TFC-2000 series includes features such as link fault pass-through which helps maintain network integrity by monitoring the connection state and alerting administrators in case of interruptions. Additionally, these devices are equipped with status LEDs, providing real-time visual feedback on power, link, and activity status.

The TFC-210 series continues the trend of high performance, particularly aimed at users who require more robust networking capabilities. It boasts advanced features like VLAN support and advanced management options. The VLAN tagging feature enables the segmentation of network traffic, enhancing security and optimizing bandwidth usage. This is particularly useful in multi-tenant environments or for businesses that require strict separation of different network segments.

In terms of characteristics, all three series are designed with durability in mind. They feature metal enclosures that provide enhanced protection against physical damage and electromagnetic interference. Power options include both AC and DC input, making them versatile for installation in various environments. Their low power consumption also ensures efficient operation, contributing to overall energy savings in large networks.
