Before you Begin

Note: The Escalade Serial ATA controller can be used with either serial or parallel drives. If using the controller with parallel drives the CBL-P-SATA (Parallel to Serial Driver Converter) must be used in conjunction.

The advantage of using the Escalade SerialATA Controller with parallel drives is the simpler, longer cable and increased airflow.
