5Take a stack of paper and fan it.

This keeps the paper from sticking, and prevents the sheet feeder from feeding more than one sheet at a time.

6Tap the side and bottom edges of the paper on a ﬂat surface to even up the stack.

Note: To avoid possible damage to the print head, ensure that your paper size is not smaller than the print area. For best results, use typewriter-quality paper. Refer to Appendix A for further information on paper speciﬁcations.
