About the Matrix Switchers

The Extron matrix switcher systems covered in this manual distribute any input to any combination of outputs, routing multiple input/output combinations simultaneously.

The matrix switchers covered in this manual are a family of matrix switcher basic module enclosures (BMEs) that let you create very large (up to 64 inputs and 64 outputs) matrix switching systems for video, audio, or both. This family of matrix switcher BMEs includes the following models:

CrossPoint 450 Plus Wideband video — Routes a single video plane (red [R], green [G], or blue [B]).

CrossPoint 450 Plus Sync — Routes a single sync plane (horizontal [H], vertical [V], or composite sync [S]).

MAV Plus Video — Routes a single plane of low resolution (NTSC/PAL/SECAM) component video (Y, R-Y, or B-Y), S-video (Y or C), and composite video.

MAV Plus Stereo Audio — Routes balanced or unbalanced stereo audio (two audio planes).

MAV Plus Mono Audio — Routes mono audio (one audio plane).
