Timer recording (SHOWVIEW® System)

This is a simple programming system for DVD recorders. To use it, enter the SHOWVIEW® programming number associated with your television programme. You can find this number in your TV listings magazine.

All the information needed by the DVD recorder for programming is contained in the programming number.

ATurn on the TV power. Select the correct Video In channel at the TV.

BPress TIMER on the remote control.

The timer schedule list appears.

Or, press key to go to the next available empty slot and press OK.

The SHOWVIEW® System menu appears.

ShowView System

Enter the ShowView programming number for the show you wish to record. Press [RETURN] to return to timer schedule or [TIMER] to exit timer.

To clear the SHOWVIEW® programming number, press CLEAR on the remote control.

To cancel the SHOWVIEW® programming, use  keys to select CANCEL in the menu and press OK.

E To confirm your entry, select CONFIRM in the menu and press OK.

The system will store the timer entry and return to the timer editor menu.

If the channel number of the TV channel has not been assigned to the programming number, you will have to manually key in the channel number that is assigned to the SHOWVIEW® code. Follow the instructions on the TV.

FPress TIMER to exit the menu.

GInsert a DVD+R/+RW into the DVD recorder.

HPress STANDBY-ONto turn off the DVD recorder.

If the DVD recorder is not in standby mode, a warning message will appear three minutes before the recording starts.

If you ignore the warning message, the DVD recorder will automatically switch to standby mode to prepare for timer recording at the designated time.

The TIMERicon will light up on the display panel if a timer recording is set.

DUse the numeric keypad 0-9 to enter the SHOWVIEW® programming number for the show you wish to record.

(e.g. : 5-312-4 or 5,312 4, key in ‘53124’).

TIPS: Ensure that there is sufficient space available on the DVD+R/+RW before recording. You have to finalise the DVD+R before it can be played on other players, see page 39.
