This 10/100/1000 port is a connection point for a network

device, such as a Gigabit server.

mini-GBICThe mini-GBIC (gigabit interface converter) port is a con- nection point for a mini-GBIC module, so the Switch can be uplinked via fiber to another switch. The mini-GBIC port is compatible with two types of modules, 850 nm and 1310 nm.

SR2246 specifications

The Linksys SR2246 is a robust and efficient device designed to meet the networking demands of small to medium-sized businesses. As part of the Linksys lineup of networking solutions, the SR2246 stands out due to its versatility, performance, and ease of management.

One of the main features of the Linksys SR2246 is its 24-port capacity, which allows for extensive connectivity options. This device is equipped with 24 Ethernet ports capable of supporting 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds, enabling seamless data transfer and communication across various connected devices. This makes it an ideal choice for organizations looking to connect multiple workstations, printers, and servers without sacrificing speed or efficiency.

The SR2246 utilizes advanced switching technologies that enhance both performance and management capabilities. With support for both auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDI-X, the switch facilitates easy plug-and-play installation, automatically adapting to different networking configurations. This feature minimizes network downtime, enabling a hassle-free setup for users who may not possess extensive technical knowledge.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) support is another significant characteristic of the Linksys SR2246, allowing the device to deliver both data and power through the same Ethernet cable. This feature is beneficial in scenarios where powering devices like IP cameras or VoIP phones can be a challenge, as it eliminates the need for additional electrical outlets or power adapters.

In terms of security, the SR2246 incorporates robust features to protect the network from unauthorized access and potential threats. VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) support enables administrators to segment the network, enhancing security measures and improving overall network performance by reducing broadcast traffic.

Furthermore, the SR2246 offers a user-friendly web-based management interface that allows for easy configuration and monitoring of network performance. This interface is designed to assist network administrators in maximizing efficiency by providing insights into traffic patterns, device connectivity, and overall system health.

In summary, the Linksys SR2246 is a powerful, reliable, and user-friendly switch that meets the needs of modern businesses.
