Installing a Disk Drive

Before you begin, ensure that you are installing the proper disk drive. The Adaptec ACS-100 USB Enclosure supports 3.5-inch IDE hard disk drives only.

Note: You need a Phillips screwdriver to complete this task.

To install a disk drive into your USB Enclosure:

1Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws on the back of the enclosure.

2Remove the enclosure’s back panel, as shown below, and slide out the disk drive tray.

3Connect the disk drive tray’s internal power connector and IDE cable to the disk drive.
