Analog Outputs

It is not normally The Ayre CX-7eMPoffers both balanced and

recommended to use both sets of single-ended outputs. Balanced connections are

analog outputs made via three-pin XLR connectors, while

simultaneously. single-ended connections are made via RCA connectors.

When you have a choice, a balanced connection will offer slightly higher sound quality than a single-ended connection.

Digital Filter

The digital filter of the Ayre CX-7eMPfeatures two user-selectable algorithms. A selector switch is located on the rear panel. One algorithm produces greater accuracy in the time domain and is labeled “Listen”. The other algorithm produces greater accuracy in the frequency domain and is labeled “Measure”.

It is recommended that the selector switch be set to the “Listen” position. However some listeners may prefer the additional high-frequency energy provided by the “Measure” position.

Digital Output

The Ayre CX-7eMPfeatures a balanced AES/EBU digital audio output on the rear of the unit. This may be used when connecting to a digital recording unit or other device, such as an external digital-to-analog converter (DAC). A switch on the
